As soon as the war ended, the Soviet started producing this car in a large scale, in 1946. The Pobieda M20, was a European car of the upper mid class. It had a 2100cc 4 cylinders engine, 3 speed manual gearbox, and rear wheel drive. Later on, a 4 wheel drive was also introduced!The top speed was 115km/h. It included heating, radio and an electric clock, still unusual equipments on European cars then.The electricity was a 12 volt, instead of the 6 volt power of all the other cars. Probably because of the hard weather conditions, and the need to have a strong battery to start with low temperatures.The model was built in the GAZ factory until 1958, and had several modifications. There were also a wagon, a pickup, and a nice 4 door convertible.
